Locals Pass - 10 Short Hops for only $5

Hopo’s version of the go card is the Locals 10 Trip Pass it’s great for regular ferry passengers and makes the perfect gift!

Simply purchase the $50 locals pass to receive 10 Short Hops for only $5, that’s 50% off adult fares. 

A Short Hop is one-way travel for up to 20 minutes e.g. for only $5 you can travel from: 

  • Surfers Paradise to HOTA, Home of the Arts for the Sunday Markets or to catch the latest movies *
  • Southport Broadwater Parklands to Marina Mirage or Sea World to beat the traffic and arrive in style

This pass also allows longer journeys, with the the full loop (up to 2 hours) for only $20.

Anyone can purchase this pass, with no proof of Gold Coast address required.

* HOTA also provides 20% discount on cinema tickets for ferry passengers.

Monday to Friday - $20 Concession Cardholder Day Pass

Hopo’s cruisy vibe should be enjoyed by everyone! Discounted travel is available Monday to Friday for local concession cardholders e.g. Students, Seniors, Health Care, Veteran and Pensioner Concession Cards.

Receive a Day Pass for only $20, it’s great for schools, universities, community groups and NDIS providers.

Simply show a proof of Gold Coast address and valid concession card.

Free Travel - for Kids, Pets and Carers

Ahoy, little captains! Hop on with free travel for kids under 5 years.

A ride on Hopo Ferry is a nature-based activity for young families or a great day out with the grandkids.

We haven’t forgot about the fur-babies either, they can travel and enjoy the beautiful parklands and walks that surround the ferry precincts.   See here for conditions of pet travel e.g. small dogs under 7kgs are allowed onboard.

Carers or companions also travel free upon presentation of a valid companion card, see accessibility section for more information.
